Follow my records and me in the magical land of IG

I recently made an Instagram page just for my records, and I would love for you to follow it.

You can also follow my more chaotic Instagram account, theangrykitten.  It has art things, but also people things, place things, and whatever things.

Follow both! I hope to see you there.  We can be instagramigos (yes, I just made that word up).

Green Cactus in the Summer Rain

***SOLD!***

Look at these teeny, tiny, cute-as-heck cactii!  Here is a 1" x 2" Green Cactus in the Summer Rain tiny landscape, created on a durable magnet. It is resined with jewelry-grade resin and the sides are coated in copper paint.

More of my tiny Rachro Flowscapes are available if you go to my Records by Rachro facebook page.  They are each available for purchase (shipping available domestically within the US), and each domino has a super strong neodymium magnet, so it will definitely and reliably hold several things up on your refrigerator at once!  Those little magnets are mighty and I wanted something strong, functional, and high quality to go with my tiny flowscapes.

Electric Ink and Paint

I love this outlet cover!  Earthy oranges, turquoise, reds, and greens, plus hand painted details in a mandala style.  Fun.

My outlet covers, Rachro domino flowscapes, and painted records are available to view and purchase on my Facebook page, Records by Rachro.  You are invited to share the info and comment or ask questions there.  They can be shipped anywhere within the United States.

Each outlet cover is protected for durability with UV protectant and an acrylic polyurethane coating.

Orange Juice, Lemonade,and Limeade

This hand painted outlet cover is so juicy!  It is so bright and citrus-ey in person.  If you love exciting and juicy colors, this is the one.  It has sort of a marble or stone look too.  I just love it.  It has a refreshing orange juice/lemonade sort of look

Electric Rainbow

Here is another Rachro outlet cover, hand painted by me!  It is vibrant and beautiful; Even moreso in person.

Listen: Your appliances want to speak to you, and through this decorative electric outlet cover, now they finally have the means to say they don't want to be ignored or fade into the background anymore. They can now say, "Here I am.  Plug me in.  Turn me on, right here next to this couch."

Bland is boring. Don't be boring.

Blue Ocean and Sand

Here is a relaxing blue-themed landscape, hand painted by yours truly on an electrical outlet cover.  I sort of imagined myself at a beach, standing off to the side and up a little hill, looking at pebbles and wild grass.

Here's my question: Can an electrical outlet in your living room transport you to another place and time?  Yes.  Yes, it can and I am proving that fact right now as you are reading this and indulging in my beach fantasy.

Hi!  Along with my tiny Rachro Flowscapes, I've also been painting electric outlet covers!

I am a big fan of functional art, and here I've taken something boring and turned it into something fun and colorful!  Plug in and turn on, man.
They are painted with vivid inks with incredible detail, and are sealed and protected with UV protection and polyurethane for durability.

New Records by Rachro Shop on Big Cartel

Hi, everyone! I recently set up a Big Cartel store, to offer a few of my pieces. I hope you'll take a look and share the link. The site is where the actual art is sold (not "print-on-demand" products), so when you buy there you're buying the original pieces and not prints. If there's an available piece you would like to buy and it's not currently offered on the site, please message me privately through my Facebook page and I can probably make that happen.
Thanks for looking! Much appreciated.

Badger Badger Badger Badger.....MUSHROOM MUSHROOM

The whole time I was painting this record, I kept getting stuck on the Badger Badger earworm.  If you've never heard it, well, here ya go (*also be sure to check out Weebl and Bob- "When come back bring pie...").

ANYWAY.....

I painted this far out, psychedelic Mushroom label record, which was once the Canadian band Chilliwack.
LOOK AT THIS CRAZY RECORD!
You will see colors you have never seen, much like the elusive and silently powerful mantis shrimp.  You will go on a mind journey.  You will see auras.  You will see your past lives.

Hmmm, no. None of those things are true.  You will not see those things, most likely.
Or maybe you will. Who am I to say?

All I can say is that this is a beautiful record with pretty colors that makes me happy to look at.
I hope you like it too.

UPDATE: SOLD!  AND NOW BEING DISPLAYED IN BEAUTIFUL, SUNNY CALIFORNIA.

Designs to Color!

Normally, I just post my records.
But this is a special mention for Designs to Color!  This psychedelic, abstract coloring book was *THE ORIGINAL*, created in 1965 by my beloved aunt, Betty Schaffner.  She was an artistic pioneer, decades ahead of her time.

Coloring books with unusual subject matter are the current "zen" thing - but what you need to know is that the Betty Schaffner Designs to Color book was the first, created almost 50 years ago.  She knew she had created a phenomenon then, and now it's back in full force.

My aunt believed that everyone had innate creativity, and in a time where she felt traditional coloring books for children lacked imagination, she boldly created and published designs that could be decorated in a unique way. No two people color the designs the same.  Each design can be colored and interpreted differently, as many times as you like.  The possibilities are endless, when you color in one of the Designs to Color books. Six books were published in the late 1960s.

They are for people of any age, any gender, any ability, and any lifestyle to enjoy.  Use markers, crayons, watercolors, ink pens, or whatever you want to color the designs. No limits.  Open your mind...

And you know what else?  You can color within the lines --- or not!  Your choice. The lines are only a suggestion of where to take your thoughts.

My aunt Betty and these books were an enormous influence on my life and creativity.  I had the unique privilege of living with my aunt until her tragic death, and I am so happy to see that her spirit lives on with these magical designs.

Here is a link to the coloring books, available online:

You can also request them at your local bookstore or art supply store.

HAPPY COLORING!
