Electric Ink and Paint

I love this outlet cover!  Earthy oranges, turquoise, reds, and greens, plus hand painted details in a mandala style.  Fun.

My outlet covers, Rachro domino flowscapes, and painted records are available to view and purchase on my Facebook page, Records by Rachro.  You are invited to share the info and comment or ask questions there.  They can be shipped anywhere within the United States.

Each outlet cover is protected for durability with UV protectant and an acrylic polyurethane coating.

Orange Juice, Lemonade,and Limeade

This hand painted outlet cover is so juicy!  It is so bright and citrus-ey in person.  If you love exciting and juicy colors, this is the one.  It has sort of a marble or stone look too.  I just love it.  It has a refreshing orange juice/lemonade sort of look

Electric Rainbow

Here is another Rachro outlet cover, hand painted by me!  It is vibrant and beautiful; Even moreso in person.

Listen: Your appliances want to speak to you, and through this decorative electric outlet cover, now they finally have the means to say they don't want to be ignored or fade into the background anymore. They can now say, "Here I am.  Plug me in.  Turn me on, right here next to this couch."

Bland is boring. Don't be boring.

Blue Ocean and Sand

Here is a relaxing blue-themed landscape, hand painted by yours truly on an electrical outlet cover.  I sort of imagined myself at a beach, standing off to the side and up a little hill, looking at pebbles and wild grass.

Here's my question: Can an electrical outlet in your living room transport you to another place and time?  Yes.  Yes, it can and I am proving that fact right now as you are reading this and indulging in my beach fantasy.

Happy Father's Day! Love, Carly Simon

This sweet record was painted for a father in Gig Harbor, who happens to love Carly Simon.  I am deeply amused by that.  This family is pretty awesome, on the whole.  I wanted to paint something simple, but bold with vibrant colors that was very flowy and flowery.  It came out lovely.  Happy Father's Day!

Seen enough fences to last a lifetime.

For a fun change, I reverted to painting in my spontaneous, freewheeling style from a few years ago. I love the glossy black against the colors.  It gives me flashbacks of growing up in our Texas house, whose contents and appliances were lovingly painted with psychedelic designs by my beloved late Aunt Betty with her abstract designs in the 60s. What?  Didn't everyone have a refrigerator in their dining room painted with fluorescent pink and turquoise seaweed and anenome?

My aunt was a pioneer of innovative coloring books for children, and believed that people needed to keep their creativity alive in their leisure time, by avoiding the conventional and expected.  The usual coloring books of the day that kids spent time using were stifling to young minds (you know, before everything was electronic and made of plastic, and back when people used their HANDS + BRAINS to do and make things).  And she was totally right.

This far-out record went to live in an incredible house in California.  It is comforting to know that it is surrounded by beautiful works of art and lovely people, so it will never be alone.
